Commissioning brief

A recipe needs provenance

Ingredients and steps can be copied easily; authorship and testing cannot.

Every recipe on this desk will carry a creator credit, permission record, test date, yield, timing, substitutions actually tried, and relevant safety note. We do not lift recipes from another publication or lightly paraphrase someone else's work.

The first commission will invite a Fort Collins cook, baker, scoop maker, farmer, or beverage producer to teach one useful technique in their own voice.

Supporting dispatches

Three ways into the desk

These are the recurring story forms the desk is built to report—not claims that unfinished fieldwork has already happened.

01

Commissioned recipe

A creator-owned recipe published under an agreed license and tested by the desk.

02

Colorado kitchen note

Altitude, season, storage, or ingredient context from a qualified source.

03

What we changed

A transparent test log for substitutions, timing, and corrections.

The recurring feed

Monthly commissioned recipe · seasonal technique package · corrections as reported

What must clear before publication

No recipe publishes without a rights agreement and a successful test. Medical or nutrition claims require qualified review and are not inferred from ingredients.
